Talented programmer passionate about physics and music is needed to put together an exciting 3D model of standing waves in strings in Wolfram Mathematica. Most of the code already exists, as separate models. Your job will be to modify, add new features and join together these models, or just use the existing code as inspiration for your own. The final model will depict how the complex motion of an oscillating string is the result of a vorticular action of a rotating system and has volume in space. With other words, it will visually demonstrate what happens when angular momentum is applied to a string. This theory received positive feedback from scientists in academia: "Your point is well taken - obviously real strings must operate in 3D and this shows how that 3D motion can be modeled by 2D dynamics (because it can be projected down to 2D)." The following video explains the concept in details: [login to view URL] Files attached: the existing code, a 2D Java version of the model - seen from the front, and pictures with what is the model expected to look like. I am currently working on another video with all the detailed features of the final model, and will post it as an update as soon as it's finished. Your assistance will also be required in publishing/authoring the model to the Wolfram Demonstrations Project. This means collaborating with a peer-review team of editors to bring the code to their publishing standards. It also mean that you will add to your portfolio a project equivalent to an academic paper published in a scientific journal/magazine. There is no deadline or time-frame for this project. Whatever schedule fits you best, you got it. Take your time and do it right. I am very organized and this model will correspond to my disciplined standards. About me: I'm an independent researcher of sonic technology. Some of my work, together with more information about me and this project is published on my homepage [login to view URL] P.S. Please excuse freelancer.com for not offering separate skill tags for Mathematica and Matlab. This project is to be executed exclusively in Mathematica. This job is a re-post.
