Online video backend manager to store and manage videos on Linux server. Requirement • Import existing videos stored on the server to the database. • Upload video, download video from link and store directly on server. • Upload thumbnail, download thumbnail from link and store directly on server. • Automatic (using ffprobe) and Manual (html form) video information (codec, bitrate, size) update. • Environment and Technology to use: LAMP, MySQL database and php, Javascipt, AJAX. • Videos processing using ffmpeg. This includes converting to a specific format, cropping, de-logoing, splitting video into clips, converting clips other formats, creating folders, moving files, storing new information back to database etc - all should be managed using backend without. • Videos processing is done by opening a video on a web player. What’s already available • Collection of video stored as “.mp4” format. • Collection of video stored as “.m3u8” playlist. (playlist and .ts files per video, stored in directories) • MySQL Database with above information stored. • Thumbnail is stored on the server and associated to video in the above database. • An online video editor script available to cut videos, Join videos using ffmpeg- this need improving to add other features such as crop-detect, crop, resize, split into clips etc. • A php script available to retrieve video data such as size, duration bitrate etc. • ffprobe or ffmpeg can also be used to retrieve video information. • Examples available for de-logoing video using ffmpeg.

Hello i worked a lot with videos and image saving and preview thumbnail generation and making video web compatible using ffmpeg ... my personal opinion is that to not store data(image, videos ) in database as this is very costly operation recommend you to store data in File System then access that for previews etc as i did I have good hand on python and worked on web services in python using tornado and consume these web APIs in java as well - Good hand in Linux working from past 2 years - PostgreSQL Mssql - REST architecture in python(with tornado) - REST architecture in Java I have good hand on following tools and technologies Programming /API: Core java, Java Enterprise Edition, JAXB, JAXP, XML Web Services REST, SQL, HTML, JSON, Java Script, Log4j, Apache common, CXF, Maven, Subversion. Languages: Java , Python Servers: Apache Tomcat, Apache Karaf. Operating System: Red Hat Linux, Windows, CentOS IDEs/Tools: Eclipse kepler, Sublime Version control: Subversion, git Databases: Mssql , PostgreSQL, Memcahed Other: OSGI, Apache karaf, Bash, Maven, JIRA
