I have a web site - at [[login to view URL]][1] that serves a yacht club in the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. The Club also publishes a monthly black and White newsletter that uses 2 color pre-printed banner at the top of page 1. Both need updating as follows: If you look at <[login to view URL]> you can see most of this problem. Our Monthly magazine is called the Log, and it's banner has changed in 1997, 2000, and in 2002-2006. The 2002-2006 log banner was coordinated with the banner which remains on the Web site. None of the boats pictured belong to our club any longer, we do not have a decent quality image any longer. We hosted a big event in 2007 so we created a new Log Banner featuring Flying Scot boats which we have been using this year. If you want to see what our 2007 Log looks like, issues are downloadable at <[login to view URL]> - a typical Log is seen at <[login to view URL]> Now that the Flying Scot event is over, our leadership wants to go back to what they think is the crisper look of the design and text on the banner on <[login to view URL]> - though the image quality is terrible. ## Deliverables I am looking for a new design for both the web banner and the log banner - using one or more of the pictures we have of Club boats - 1,000s are available at <[login to view URL]> I have selected what I think are the best and put them in a set at [login to view URL] I would think a selection of 4-5 pictures that might rotate on the web page header would look good. And the Log banner can not rotate nearly as easily. Our cheap printer needs color separations for printing first blue and then red, and the two can not overlap. He prints 1,000s of color blanks which lasts for months. The two banners can be very different, but they both needs to convey the feeling that they both come from the same Club. The web banner can be more fun, and lively, and changing from page to page or time to time, The Log Banner needs to remain the same for long periods of time. I think the text and Fonts on both should match to stay with the brand. In the conforming New Web Banner section on <[login to view URL]> I tried to make a banner where the picture on the left changed around even as the water on the right remained unchanged. We could stay with sailboats sailing on the water - but I might be just as happy with pictures of people smiling as they sail - not sure what is best. I have lots of this available on photoshop - see File Downloads in the middle of the page - but I thought someone on RAC might produce a much finer set of banners than I could do myself. At a minimum I want a 100-120 pixel high by 500-700 pixel wide web banner image. Our current one is 500 wide, and a background image <[login to view URL]> spreads out to the right. In the new Web Banner, provision needs to be made for the links and their location. I have uploaded a lousy graphic on thsi page showing the links on top of the water on a Flying Scot Web banner. But I need something much better looking and well designed. I want both the photoshop file with all the layers and the jpeg. and a Log Banner - as a three page high quality pdf - one with the red ink, one with the blue ink, and one with both inks, all lined up exactly for the printer to take a picture of it and print it - plus I also want the photoshop file with the layers. I would prefer to see several options and ideas, which I can circulate to my team, and then we would pick one to develop to the full specs. Thanks very much. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Saturday Nov 10, 2007 11:27:46 AM: Thank you all for your interest in my new job. I have edited the posting a little to answer some questions. Please note that I have now assembled my best pictures to be used in the banners at [login to view URL] I have now decided that the web banner and the Log banner do not have to be identical - they simply must be coordinated and appear to represent the same brand - Text and Fonts the same, maybe, but graphics or pictures can be different. And I have put a graphic of a lousy attempt by me to develop a web banner that incorporates my web page links. I do ask that the web banner design make provision for links, and their appearance, and I have clarified that all photoshop files that are submitted have all layers, so down the road, if I need to update, I can. Many Thanks. I hope this helps answer you questions. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Monday Nov 12, 2007 8:47:55 AM: I remembered another detail that I left out of the description. Sorry to keep changing the job, but better up front than expand the scope later. For the Log Banner - I actually need two things. One is a Photoshop file with all layers that can be used as the header on the Color Log which is what we publish on line. The Log publisher ends up using a jpeg. It can have as many colors as we want. and the second is three pdfs that are color separations for the header which goes on the actual printed Black and White Log. So whatever is used on the Color Log header needs to be reduced to 2 colors. On the color separation, the printer is so cheap he can not make registration marks line up exactly - in part because he uses large sheets with 8 pages and the paper gets moist and expands. She he likes moving the red 1-2mm to the right or left so it is offset - which you will see in the scan of the 2002-2006 Log Banner on [login to view URL] One of my team suggested I show you all [login to view URL] which has a header using a different boat and the same old design. If we stay with the concept of our same design, but using different boat pictures, this would be an example of a variety. Strother ## Platform Doesn't really matter - Photoshop, PDFs all for web pages.
