The job offered encompasses the regular tracking and technical supervision of activities in the Intel-BSC Exascale Lab, as well as working with Intel management on evaluating the results and providing guidance for the collaboration and. The Intel-BSC Exascale Lab with Barcelona Supercomputing Center has been established in 2011, with activities in performance analysis and modelling, dynamic programming models, and HPC and data analytics applications. The collaboration was extended in 2015 to cover parallel I/O, Big Data and Scheduling/Orchestration topics. In addition, Intel works with BSC in a number of European government funded projects such as DEEP-ER and [login to view URL] StatementN/AThe candidate must have deep expertise in the canonical HPC software stack, including MPI and OpenMP, in performance analysis and modelling tools for HPC applications, and in optimizing HPC applications. Professional experience in one of these fields as a SW developer or architect in a commercial or open source setting is required. In addition, a good working knowledge of Intels HPC platforms (Xeon and Xeon Phi) is mandatory. Good programming skills in C/C++ and experience in SW architecture and development are required. The candidate must have a good understanding of the Linux OS architecture and implementation. The candidate must have an academic degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields equivalent to a PhD or doctoral degree. Professional experience in developing SW solutions on Intel systems is required. Academic standing in a relevant field is advantageous. Prior experience in working in the HPC or Big Data field would be a large advantage, as would be a track record in technical project definition and tracking. Finally, practice in collaborating with European government-funded projects in a mixed commercial and academic environment would be a bonus.-
