Create a weather dashboard Android application

Overview: The task is to develop an Android Application based on an open source and well documented framework to obtain weather information ([login to view URL]). Since the app will be based on existing library the most technical parts of the app build (such as HTTP connections with APIs, data parsing etc.) have already been built. The weather information display is made up of 3 main areas; a main dashboard, 7 day forecast and settings pages. The pages are for the most part “dashboards” / “slides" in the sense they have little interactivity which simplifies development significantly. All objects for the display will be provided in EPS format, so no graphic design is required as this has all been completed in advance. Each of these screens has been designed professionally and the developer must replicate the design near "pixel perfect". Details such as fonts, colours and effects will all be made explicit and must be followed to the letter. The design is a legally registered design and so full protected by copyright law in the US / UK and other regions. The design should not be shared with any 3rd party under any circumstance and leaking of it will be considered a serious breach of contract. As such payment for the project will only be made once it’s been tested to ensure it meets the exacting requirements and the app has been tested on a 7 inch Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) tablet device. The resolution is fixed, so no flexible design in terms of fitting to other screen sizes is required. Effort: * We estimate this project to be 6 full man days of effort in development. * Day 1: Up-skilling/Familiarity with project specific libraries * Day 2-4: Page design. * Day 5: Camera sensor component (existing library available) * Day 6: Testing and bug fixing * Potential for discretionary bonus. * Penalty of 50GBP per day after 30 days lapsed from agreement. Scope and Delivery Format: * Compressed file containing all required files for Android Studio for a working and deployable app. * Instructions on any non-standard requirements/ dependancies for Android Studio. * Specific instructions on where to find and how to change the “fine tuning” parameters mentioned in the brief. Out of Scope: * No “app store” (Google Play Store) launch required at this stage in development. * Although mentioned the development of the “kiosk mode” functionality for an “always on” app is beyond the scope of this development, although this considerations which are clearly outlined in the full brief. Developer Background: * Android app development experience (3+ years) * Specialist in UI design implementation able to generate objects and transitions and generally has a portfolio of apps developed previously which a high degree of “polish" and a "progressional finish”. IMPORTANT: Freelancers wanting to make a bid must be able to provide 2 examples of past work that meets this. If not under their name in the app store, they must have some evidence to verify this. * Should be familiar with creating Android apps with geometry based objects. Transparency and gradient effects along with rotating and moving objects with animation. * Although not a designer, should be expected to be able to take elements from a vector EPS design. * Highly proficient in Andriod Studio (Gradle based IDE) * Able to use and combine well documented open source code related to weather data and simple camera usage. * No creative design experience or time required. All design elements have already been completed for this project. The developer simply need to implement the design to the letter. * Exceptional attention to detail.
