It's my belief that the translation is half the job an employer is looking for, you see, the employer (you) isn't looking for someone who delivers a word per word, out of context, disordered and plain translation; You're looking for someone who is able to deliver a translation that keeps in consideration the context of the text being translated, which, for a manual is paramount given the instructive nature of the aforementioned, while proofreading and formatting the document ensuring the translated text is error-free, easy to read and has a ready-to-print look.
I mentioned above that I had studied in Engineering, I'm a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and part of the Young Professionals (YP) project, which has helped me improve my grammar, pronunciation and hearing skills. In final addition, I've also worked in Upwork and have done a few translation and transcription jobs.
