I wrote an eBook about my own adventure of a lifetime called 'Panamerican Peaks' in English and want it translated to Spanish. The 192 page book is written with iBooks Author on the Mac and currently available only in the Apple iBookstore for the iPad (with free sample chapter also in PDF format on my book companion website). The book includes ~300 color photos and ~10 videos as well as some interactive maps, which makes for interactive and engaging reading on the iPad. I am currently in the process of translating the book to German myself, so I know the effort it takes to create a good translation. I need good quality work which reads fluently as if written by a native speaker. In this first project I need you to translate the text of the included sample chapter (225 lines, 3835 words, ~8 pages w/ photos). I may select more than one bidder for this test project. Based on the results of this I plan to post the entire book translation as a separate project. The following will be considered a plus, but is not required: - Access to and experience with iBooks Author on the Mac - Book writing and/or Blogging experience, preferably in the travel and adventure genre - Portfolio of English to Spanish translated articles The attached files include more details ([login to view URL]) and the translation file called "Rain" in three formats (only pdf comes with photos). The deliverable in this project is the Spanish version of "Rain".

I believe that a good translation should not only sound natural, but should also correspond to the culture of the target audience, as if it were a text originally written in the target language. It is equally important for the translator to fully understand the source text, regardless of whether it is well-written or not.
