I can hack into your camera man :) Hello, What plugin does the camera require in order to work on IE? Does it work on other browsers as well? The first step is to check the webpage source in order to identify the plugin. Another approach is to scan the camera using something like nmap to find the open ports. Wireshark can also be useful. Is the camera public or in your internal network? If you can give me access to a machine that can connect to the camera I can investigate further. Best wishes, Ionut

I can hack into your camera man :) Well... It depends . My idea is that all network traffic can be intercepted and is probably not encrypted or not encrypted properly. This is a hunch coming from the words "Internet Explorer Plug-In". From this, we can decode how connections are controlled ( start / stop / ... pause / others ). It is also very likely that video streams can be identified from their specific marker tags and extracted from network traffic. So yeah, without going into decompilation or anything, I'm pretty sure it is possible to at least trick the camera to think that we're the "legitimate" plug-in and stream to us in a format we can decode and interpret. This does look like a fun project. I've worked a lot with Wireshark, a network protocol analyser, and audio / video streaming. I've also developed firmware for an IP camera. I can DEFINITELY hack into your camera, but I'll start with the easier techniques first. I hope you consider my bid. Eric
