I need a small program developed for Ubuntu Linux. The program has to be able to play a small MP3 file (alarm sound) when it receives an HTTP event from another box. Basically its a small webserver or a CGI that can play a nominated audio file when it receives a request. I'm using it for a remote alarm player at various locations in our office if something bad happens. My preference would be that you develop this in Delphi/FreePascal/Lazarus, but I'd be open to Python as well. Its not a big project, so the budget reflects that.

Hi, I wrote a python program to to that, this a commandline webserver, and a optional PyGtk GUI. When receives an http request, it will try to use pygst/pymad/mpg321/mplayer/ffmpeg to play the nominated audio file.
