Critical Reading Reflection -- 2

This critical reading aims to allow you to learn to read closely, critically evaluate texts, and engage with the issues and concepts raised in other readings. You must critically analyses Donna L. Please note that these are guiding questions that are constructed to help you think about the paper in concrete ways, but they need not be addressed in this specific order in your paper, and you are welcome to address other issues not raised in this list of questions. Importantly, you are required to use an essay format in addressing these points, rather than providing a separate answer under each question. What issue is being discussed in Lillian’s (2007) article? What is the author’s main argument, and what evidence do they provide to support it? Did you find the supporting evidence convincing? What theory does the author explicitly or implicitly subscribe to and why (i.e., what makes this theory in particular the appropriate lens through which to investigate the issue at hand)? Does the author refute other theories? What key concepts (if any) are introduced/discussed in this article that you have found helpful in understanding the main argument(s)? What methodology does the author rely on to investigate the topic under analysis, and do you find it appropriate? Does the author suggest any solutions or remedies to the problem being investigated; if so, did you find these solutions convincing and feasible? Discuss/reflect on how Lillian’s article contributes, or fails to contribute, to your understanding of the relationship between language and gender. In your analysis, you must make at least 3 references to other readings. You are not required to draw on outside sources of information. Below I have attached the main article and 3 other articles for the 3 references to other readings. Each reference must be at least one from the 3 articles. I already have the title page and reference. The paper should be only 4 pages long double-spaced.
