Hello, I'm a software engineer & linux sysadmin. Not sure how to measure correctly the smoke amout, it depends on various factors, including smoke density, wood burning and more. But, what I'm sure I can do is to manage a temperature sensor to check the chamber temperature and a step motor to regulate the opening of the floodgates for in/out the smoke.
