I have a new Raspberry Pi B. I want to turn on the Raspberry and automatically play movies that are on a USB thumb drive. I'd like it to randomly choose a movie when I start the Raspberry and randomly pic the next movies as long as it's powered on. The movies need to be full screen.
Hi,
I have worked on several projects using Raspberry Pi including multiple media solutions. This can be implemented easily. After booting, the system can scan for USB device and can create a random playlist that will be played continuously. The video playback would be using hardware acceleration and on fullscreen mode.
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm an rpi integrator, with experiences in developing rpi based media setup and kiosk, I believe I can help.
I think this can be done robustly with python and omxplayer, where it randomly plays the first and the next succeeding clip.
