Build Multi-Vendor E-Commerce Fine Art Site that works like Ebay/Etsy.

I want an e-commerce site for fine art, like a mini ebay or etsy type site, that is mobile friendly, responsive, and allows users to buy and sell new and used art and add their own images and photos that show off the art. Users will be artists selling their own work, with the ability to also sell the works of others, and dealers/galleries who are selling the new work of artists they represent, or used work they are reselling. Site should be very simple and easy to use, clean and uncluttered so that the art itself will be the star, displayed gallery style. The site will need to allow for easy sales transactions between users, with site itself receiving a small commission on sales, and also providing an optional escrow service for a fee for those (mainly buyers) who wish to use it for larger sales. There should be some sort of messaging system between users, so buyers can ask sellers questions and sellers can answer them, a user rating system so buyers can rate sellers, and of course the ability for me to easily and fully manage the site and the users. There will be standard listings for free, and featured listings with a fee. All listings will expire after a month and then will need to be renewed manually by users. Looking for something that can easily scale to hopefully accommodate a large and growing number of users. Open to suggestions for the best and least costly way to do it. Looking for someone with experience and a proven track record who can get the job done well, and do work on both the front end, back end, and mobile side of things. I will provide a more in-depth scope document, as well as images from a previous failed attempt, to those who are short-listed for this project, so they will have a better understanding of the site I am hoping to have built.
