The project is a fairly simplistic Stock Control system, except that it is for the Chemical Waste Industry so there are a lot of long and technical names involved. Nevertheless, it is just stock. The programme needs to be able to run from a central server and be simultaneously accessed by no more than ten client systems. They will be running XP and Office 2003 and the stock system via Wired Ethernet and Wireless 802.11b/g. The model will bring waste in to a site via the weighbridge; the chemists will check the contents of the load and decide whether or not it is acceptable. If it is not, then it is rejected, if it accepted, then it may either be stored awaiting treatment or disposal, or it may go immediately for treatment or disposal. The moment the waste is disposed of it is removed from the live data base and archived.
The system screens have already been designed, allowing flexibility for the programmers input in the event that different experience determines a simpler, or more efficient, effective display or input of data. The requirement is for the programme to be written in VB 2005 with a distributable SQL database. It should allow for the tracking of individuals and the decisions they have made, with the flexibility to activate and deactivate various parts of the programme. I would ideally appreciate a working version within the next three weeks if possible.
That is a summary of this project.
Thank you
Stephen D. Woods-Shepherd M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.).

Thank you to everyone that has posted an interest in fulfilling our work requirement. Some of you have asked to see the screen designs before finalising your bid. We have therefore posted a Powerpoint download (with viewer) at the following web address:

The screens have all been designed in Visio, a licensed copy of which can be provided if required to the successful bidder. In the interests of fairness, should anyone that has bid already, look at the screens and feel their bid needs to be adjusted in either direction then that will be completely acceptable.
Many thanks to all of you for your time and your consideration.
Mr. Stephen D. Woods-Shepherd M.Sc., B.Sc.(Hons.).
