Project to Develop Add-in Program to Enhance Excel's Goal Seek Tool. Excel's Goal Seek tool looks for a variable that will satisfy a certain criteria in a worksheet. As configured, Goal Seek displays a data entry window that prompts the user to enter the cell reference to be varied, and a cell reference to be sought. Goal Seek currently does not allow a series of successive calculations for an array of values. The purpose of this project is to write VB code for Excel 2002 to enhance Goal Seek to let the user specify several input values by changing the user data entry window. The new Excel program will be called Goal Seek Plus, or GSPlus. GSPlus will solve the equation for a series of input values, one after the other, with no additional instruction from the user. The answers will be stored after each calculation, and displayed after all of the calculations are complete. The results will be displayed in column or row format as specified by the user. An example of the use of the enhanced Goal Seek program is attached as Excel workbook GSPlus. Goal Seek is used to calculate a single condition for one set of variables. What is important is the development of an enhanced version of Goal Seek that operates repetitively and automatically. GSPlus will allows the user to identify a certain input variable, an increment of change for this variable, and the number of increments of variable change. Or, the user will fill in a column or row with selected values of the variable. When the user activates GSPlus, he can specify these parameters, or the range of variables, and GSPlus will solve the problem for each input variable, store the result, continue to the next value, solve again, and so on until all of the variables have been utilized. The stored answers will then be displayed as an array (in columns or rows). The finished project must contain commented VB code. When the workbook with the enhanced version of Goal Seek (GSPlus) is opened, a toolbar button will appear with the label GSP. The worksheet is used as any other Excel worksheet until GSPlus is to be used. After creating the required entries on the worksheet, the user will click on the GSP button to use the enhanced Goal Seek tool. Further details are on the attached Excel file. Bidders must explain how their experience relates to the development of Excel add-ins and successful projects developing applications for Excel.
