Microsite with Image Creator Functionality

The requirement is for a new microsite which will provide users the functionality to create their own Health & Safety signs from a range of templates and subsequently print them out. Each sign will have default text which can be overridden with custom text from the user. It will be possible to also have default foreign translation using translation web services. When a customer registers to use the site, it will log which signs the customer is generating so that the company telesales department can contact them and offer similar products from the company range. Requirements A website that: • Has 5-10 pages of content from advertising Company to providing instructions on how to use the site. This will be editable by CMS. • Allows customer to register their details and generate a log in to the site • Displays a range of sign templates, arranged by category • Allows the user to interact with the sign generator by selecting which template to produce • Allows the user to edit the default text of the sign if necessary • Allows the user to select a translation of the default text to another language from a list of predefined languages • The sign generated will be converted to an A4 PDF which can be printed in high quality. • Logs all the above user interaction and produces a summary that’s enables the internal staff to contact the user with similar Company products they may find useful • Allows an administrator to edit/view passwords, delete accounts, upload/edit coordinates etc • Reports on user usage, most popular sign templates etc • Has Google Analytics integration to track performance and usage • The ability for customers to request/suggest new additional sign templates Technology Used Due to the requirements above, the website will need to be written in a server side programming language (such as ASP.NET or PHP) with a database backend (MySQL/MS SQL). How the text data is overlaid onto the image is open to debate. It could use a flash engine, or it could also be done with image manipulation by the server side code (both are possible).
