Sophisticated Search Box

This is bit of a strange idea that I need implementing The situation is that we sell perfumes which are similar in smell to branded perfumes, however we no longer wish to compare our products to branded products. The solution I have come up with is that, if a coder can come up with a search box that we could add to our site, so whenever someone comes to choose their perfume, they put in the name of their favourite perfume in the top part of the box and press the search button then the search box spits out a potential fragrance that the consumer may like, thats in a nut shell. I need this box to have an admin access so that we can add fragrances and take away fragrances as per our stock levels, and the core function we need is to be able to define the fragrance, for example if ABC fragrance has notes of patchouli then we enter that in the admin area against fragrance ABC and then we define that we have XYZ which also has Patchouli hence a person who likes ABC may like XYZ but the search box will not do a direct match but will translate the fragrance entered by the customer into a search string entered by us and then resolve that query according to what we have defined for that fragrance, so it will look like this ABC ---------> Patchouli ---------------> XYZ Not like this ABC ---------------> XYZ We also want the function whereby the search box keeps a record of what queries are being entered into it so that if people are entering BCA instead of ABC then we can pick up on this, and that leads me to the next function where we need to be able to control customers search queries, what I mean by that is that if a customer enters BCA or CBA or BCA , i.e different variations of ABC then I need to be able to add this to the admin area so that any variations of ABC show up XYZ but its hard to predict what variations can be entered so I want the flexibility to add this later.
