I am a researcher, author and rock art reader involved in documenting petroglyphs on large rocks and on small stones, the latter referred to as Portable Rock Art (PRA). I'm seeking a photographer to capture PRA micro images on selected stones including tool marks, etchings and rock details. Macro lense a must. Side lighting with excellent natural and/or artificial lighting is key to capturing PRA micro details. I envision at least two settings, an outdoor and an indoor shoot. Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) capabilities a real plus. I estimate at least one, perhaps two full day of filming, not including review. I am in the Denver area and prefer the sessions at my home but will consider boxing up my collection to travel to a studio as an option. The photos will be used in my research, books, articles, etc. I anticipate all images are to be owned by me, royalty-free and if images are used in commercial endeavors, each image will be accompanied by an acknowledgement of the photographer (please clarify). Timing for this project: anticipated during early 2021. For examples of the types of stones to be photographed, see my [login to view URL] website. There will be individual stones that will be shot from different angles, in addition to different set-ups involving many stones assembled PRA objects.
