I would like a script to be created in MS Outlook 2010 which will find all the related emails for a selected email in the Inbox and delete them in one go. I know that there is an option to "Find related messages" which can be accessed by doing a right click on an email message. This method is slow as it involves more than one button press.
Below is how I would expect the feature to work:
1. User highlights an email message from the Inbox.
2. User clicks a button called something click "Find and Delete all Related emails".
3. Script will find and delete all related emails.
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks
Hi,
Instead of naive VBA scripting, I can develop a professional .Net Outlook Add-in, which shall get installed on your Outlook and add a new button in menu to "Delete related emails". Please discuss via chat.
Thank you,
Usma
I have a ready solution which might address the need you have mentioned. This solution finds all the related messages then move them to a specified folder. The solution can be invoked by clicking a menu item in a New Tab called "Utility" (or any name you like) in the ribbon. This solution can be customized easily to delete the selected items (instead of moving them to a folder). You may refer to my portfolio and look in the item named "Outlook - Search and Move Related" for the details of the solution.
Note 1: In this filtering is done using the "Conversation Topic" and "Sender / Receiver" list of the selected item. In the usual "Find Related Items" available in Outlook filters only based on "Conversation Topic" only. Based on your requirement, this can be modified as well.
Note 2: I will deliver the solution (Outlook Macro) and provide you the steps to setup the Menu Item to execute the solution.
