The biggest challenge when I edit/ proofread someone's work is that they might not like what may perhaps seem like 'meddling with content' to them. For a this project, the challenge remains the same. Proposal: I think I am the best candidate for this project because of my work experience on the editorial pages of a widely-read newspaper, where every word had to be scanned and perused to ensure that the English was correct and proper, and also to make sure that there were no other discrepancies. I have what can be called an 'editing itch'. I cannot let anything that isn't written correctly, or does not read well go by without corrrecting it, or at least pointing it out. While this earned me accolades at work, it is not such a great habit to have because not everything that you read is written with a perfect control over the language.
