For a small access control software written in python2 and running on a small embedded debian system we need an extension to receive TCP-IP telegrams. The software in its current state processes 2 different serial data protocols over 2 implemented COM-Ports. For the integration of additional access control hardware, we need the software to be expanded to be able to receive data telegrams via TCP-IP. The new hardware recognizes RFID media and sends a data telegram in notification mode (fire and forget) to a predefined IP address. Therefore, a TCP-IP host must be integrated into our existing software, which listens to a predefined TCP port and receives and processes the data telegram. Included in the telegram is the User-ID as well as the MAC-address of the antenna. We would like use the MAC-address as verification. For Example: The hardware sends via TCP/IP on port 20001 the following telegram: 02 00 25 00 22 00 81 02 00 01 00 19 84 00 0E 34 00 2D 15 05 D8 50 00 03 00 01 31 37 A7 00 1C 9B 22 02 55 41 2A This part of the Telegram is the MAC-Adress of the sending hardware:00 1C 9B 22 02 55 And that part is the User-ID: 2D 15 05 D8 50 00 03 00 01 31 37 A7 The current software has different sets of rules to process the USER ID. The received TCP-IP-Telegrams should be processed in the same way.

hi I can To implement the required TCP/IP host functionality in the existing access control software, I can use the Python Socket library to listen to a predefined TCP port and receive and process the data telegram. and it will listen for incoming connections on port 20001, receive and process the data telegrams sent by the new hardware, verify the MAC address, process the User-ID according to the existing rules, and log the User-ID and MAC address.
