Background: We need to run CouchDB 2.0 on Solaris 11.2. We have the DB compiled and running, but the query server in not functioning. The query server is an external program that called by CouchDB. The query server is written in javascript and we want to use Node.js instead of the SpiderMonkey engine. Luckily there is javascript module that works as an adapter between the query server and Node.js, so that the unchanged query server code will run under Node.js. [login to view URL] [login to view URL] Task: Fix CouchJS so that the query server functions properly. The query server should respond to a few generic test commands. We have attempted to run CouchJS + query server under Node.js version 0.10.46, 0.12.15 and 4.4.6. Version 0.10.46 gives us the error: "Error: Cannot switch to old mode now. at emitDataEvents ([login to view URL]:11) at [login to view URL] … Versions 0.12.15 gives us the error: "SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier\n at Function (native) at … at [login to view URL] ... Versions 4.4.6 gives us the error: "SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier\n at Function (native) at … at [login to view URL] [as oncomplete] ... You will be given root access to a Solaris test server that has CouchDB, CouchJS and all the above Node.js version installed. I suspect that the fix will be a few lines of code. I personally have no javascript background, so I have not even attempted to debug the cause of the error. We'd prefer that you get either version 4.4.6 or 0.12.15 working, so we will give a small bonus if you get either running. You won't receive a bonus if you can only get it running on version 0.10.46.

Honestly I did not yet work on Solaris. I have experience in Linux, JavaScript, NodeJS. So I think I can debug and fix issue but not 100% sure.
