I'm looking for freelancing professional who can work on setting up a Java based open source Forum called "JForum" ([login to view URL]) which complements our existing web application. Our web application is developed in Java/Spring MVC/Spring Security/MySQL etc;. For security (Authentication and Authorization) we are using Spring Security and we have the users database (Users comprise of general users & admins of the application) that almost fits to the Spring Security database schema (Users, Groups, Roles etc;), and password encryption is done through one of the various spring security provided mechanisms.
We need to have a discussion Forum for interaction between users & admins of the above said application. I am thinking of relying on an existing open source Forums software, as I don't want to reinvent the wheel. More over we are focusing around the core business functionality, and don't have enough resources/time to create our own Forum functionality. So I looked around and found the JForum is a java based open source Forum. I need help from a professional who can set this up for us. The forum app should be running as a separate web-app that runs in the same servlet container as our business application runs.
The JForum should be setup such that it uses the existing user login schema (as said above which has groups, roles etc;), and should be providing the below functionality at the minimum (any more functionality is obviously welcomed)..
1) When general users of the application open a ticket/discussion it can be assigned to any of different admin user groups. Which then should be visible to users who belong to that admin group, and should have the permission to reply on the original ticket/discussion until it is resolved. A way to indicate the status of the ticket like Open, Resolved etc..
2) When a discussion is initiated by a general user it should be visible only to that user and to the admin users. No other general user should be able to see that private discussion.
3) A discussion initiated by the admins of the application can be made public, and any other user of the application should be able to view and enter their comment on it.
Please let me know if the requirement is possible to be accomplished.
Suggestions are welcome regarding alternatives to the open source software and functionality perspective that goes beyond the points mentioned above.
Thank you
