Product Copy-Writing for a Unique Ecommerce Website

We are looking for a great copy-writer to write product descriptions for our ecommerce website [login to view URL] on an ongoing part-time basis. About Us We're a growing ecommerce business that's well-positioned in the marketplace because of our combination of low prices, high quality customer service, access to massive inventories, and most importantly... access to unique closeouts. About The Job Your job is to write unique, authoritative, trustworthy, compelling ad copy that sells our merchandise, and helps drive qualified traffic to our website from search engines like Google via natural placement of relevant keywords. We will supply with you critical information about the products, and expect you to weave this raw information into content that we feel proud to associate with our brand. You will be responsible for writing the product title, subtitle (if necessary), main product description, bullet points, alt-text, and URLs. The length of the copy will depend on the product, but we're guessing many products can be described between 200 and 400 words. The work will be part-time and on-going. The workload will fluctuate, but we estimate between 1 and 5 product descriptions a week for new product. In addition, we may have about 100 old product descriptions that need to be re-written. If you blow us away with your work, there may be additional opportunities for writing outside of the product descriptions. For example, we can see a blog in our website's future... Before You Bid This project is designed to help us find the right person for the job, so think of it as an interview. If you send us a wonder personalized introduction message we're going to be delighted you took the time to read through this project and decided it was worth your while you put your best foot forward. Conversely, if you send us a crappy templated message we're going to assume you didn't bother to read this message, and we'll probably just hide your bid. Tell us why you're the right person for this job. This includes explaining your experience writing product descriptions, and linking us to your work; specifically product copy-writing (as opposed to blog posts, press releases, etc... which may be nice but aren't relevant to our needs). When you bid, please give us your best price and time-frame for writing 3 product descriptions of roughly 200-400 words each. If we select you for this project, we'll give you 3 items to work on and see how we like your work. If we like your work and choose to use your product descriptions, we'll pay you 1/3 of your bid for each description for up to a total of 100% of your bid. If we don't like your work, and don't end up using it, we'll still pay you 1/6 of your bid for each description for up to a total of 50% of your bid. So that way, we both share some risk. Don't worry, we won't pick you unless we're feeling confident judging by what you've already shown us of your previous work.
