Animation for Story of the life of a Russian WW2 escapee

Looking to animate my friends bubulya (russian grandmothers) story of her as a child in russia when then germans invaded in WW2. The story is her as a young child having to flee german occupation, her father going off to fight and unfortunately die in the war, her mother and 2 sisters being captured by the german retreat during the russian counter offensive to be used as meat shields to cover their retreat. During a russian bombing on the german retreat, her mother and siblings broke off into the forest to run from the troops. After they were certain they were not being chased they wandered the forest starving and searching for water. The story continues with them finding a family in a hut in the forest and being taken in and the family sharing their little rations of food and water with them until weeks had past and they were safe to move home, to find their home burnt down and all their possessions gone. The story continues of her growing up in post war russia, going to college, meeting the love of her life, moving to australia and starting a family having 2 children and becoming the leading surveyor on some of melbournes biggest and most iconic buildings at the time, and growing old with her husband. All these details can be discussed into how much depth and time needs to be spent on them. The whole story has been written in a beautiful eulogy left by her daughter and will be sent through as reference. This is for my best friend, and she was so close to her babulya and i think her story and the legacy she has left behind for her family deserves to be captured through our technology of being able to bring written stories to life. The animation does not need to have intricate details, just bring out the emotions of the story through colour and feel. Looking to also score the animation so any advice and consideration will be helpful, as it does not need narration and would benefit from just the feelings reflected in music and animation combined. Any quotes would be awesome and this project would hold a very emotional connection for the family generations to come. Thank you
