Social, Ethical and Legal issues impacting an employer’s use of IT have grown significantly in recent years. These issues can have significant impact on an employer’s corporate image, its relationship with its customers and the public as a whole. It is in an employer’s interest to recognise these issues and develop appropriate strategies and plans to address them to maintain its customer relations. To research relevant issues and report on selected employers strategies: “Which Social, Ethical and Legal Issues are most important to particular employers in the IT industry, and what strategies and plans do they propose to address these” You should research and draw conclusions to answer the question, but these should be supported by the evidence and arguments set out in your publication. You should summarise relevant EEC or UK legislation as appropriate. In considering your opinion, we expect you to research the topic, and present a variety of information and opinions provided by different stakeholders. You might, for example, consider the priorities which governments have given, and the alternative views of some IT corporations, as well as those of academic and pressure group observers. You should also set out the opinions of authoritative sources.
