Hi I am Dr. Asad I have a PhD in Image analysis. I can do this job for you in 10 - 12 working days. I would like to see more images to develop a concrete plan of action. Been working with microscopic images since the past 10 years now. do you want any manual intervention stage in there because the accuracy of these algorithms is not always 100% . what is the automated accuracy you are looking for cheers Asad

Simple morphological operations can achieve this. Whats the scale though? .....If I know the scale I can easily do this....If the scale changes in each image then I need the size of something fixed like that hole....contact me and we can discuss it further. As you can see in my profile, I have a good experience in image processing based projects. A recent project was similar to yours in which we had to track and find temperature of an object in hundreds of images.

Hi, I have extensive experience in software development, including image processing, and so feel more than able to complete this task. I propose software in c++ to complete the steps: -open image file -apply fibre detection algorithm -process for detected fibre lengths -indicate detected fibres on image -write output image to differnt file I suggest that the fibre detection algorithm will be a combination of: -locate black circle -pixel color grouping -edge detection some experimentation will be necessary for an optimum solution. detected fibre lengths can be written to another form, text or csv file, if required. to complete this work I estimate around 10 hours, at EUR 35 per hour comes to 350 euro. as i am new to freelancer.com, i would like to complete my first few projects soon, and so will charge 250 euro for this project (plus the 10% freelancer fee).
