Hello There, We are florist. We would like to have Prometheus to monitor our equipment (temperature, vibration etc). All metric data are in JSON format. This project is to ensure from Step 4 till Step 6 are executed and properly display on dashboard. Alert if any metric breached the threshold. We will POC on cloud instance, however as the real solution would be on local machine, so a simple runbook on your implementation needed (yml config, rules, etc) Thank you

Hi, Json Exporter is your friends. There is existing open source Prometheus exporter that can help your projects completed. Its convert json data to prometheus exporter data format. If PLC json data pulled via HTTP, then it would be much easier for us. Otherwise, we need to setup small local http server to serve json data. Lets have a chat to discuss this further. Regards,

Hi. I hope you are doing good. It seems that you are interested in developing a monitoring solution for your plants using Prometheus. I have taken a look at your diagram. If I am not wrong you are interested in getting the following edges of diagram implemented: 1. 4 -> 5a 2. 4 -> 5b 3. 5a -> b I plan on using Python for implementing 4 -> 5a edge. Using python, we can read the json metric data and expose those metrics over an HTTP server. Prometheus can then easily read those metrics from the local http server. The same python application will be used for implementing 4->5b edge. Once we have completed reading a json file, it will be moved to the archive. As far as 5a->6 is concerned, we will need to integrate a visualization tool (e.g. grafana) with Prometheus. Grafana can pull the metrics from Prometheus' TSDB and visualize them with custom build dashboard. I am a software engineer with more than 4 years of experience in developing Python and C++ applications.
