For XenServer 6.5.0 I need a solid script PHP(or other python /bash) to implement something like that: [login to view URL] to backup LIVE vms without shutting them down to a remote SFTP server or FTP (configurable) for: -all vms -a group of vms -one vm *and different interval per group or vm(configurable) No gui required,cli only(but easily configured variables for configuration) Support for good compression like [login to view URL] or somthing to compress the images before backing up . Remote file name format should contain vm name and date-time of backup If the remote storage is full keep x number of recent backups per vm *Somebody attempted to deliver it but his script failed . Make sure you have experience with XenServer 6.5.0 ,access to a demo server maybe not available,you have to test it locally

I used to run several nodes with XenServer and XCP from version 4 to 6, now I moved to Proxmox/KVM but I still got my skills. I know what's needed for your project and it's not very simple and due to the fact that backup is so important and you rely so much on it, I have to take extra time to make the backup scripts very good. My script will be made in bash and will dump vms live and will upload the backups to your ftp servers with an option to delete old backups. I don't need your machines to develop this script, we also have some servers here in a local datacenter and I can work on one XenServer but we should try to have the same version of Xen. I can provide you with updates and support in the future.
