Implement a cache busting system that is really efficient (performance wise)

I have developed a HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript game which uses websockets. Furthermore, I have done cache busting via params for two weeks in a row and I am currently doing it as we speak. I must admit that it have started to get really boring. I am looking for a person who is quite experienced when it comes to caching client-sided content, cache busting and version control in general. Considering the fact that I am running a Javascript game that uses node.js and websockets (back-end) + web client (front-end), I am looking for the best and greatest solution that guarantees perfect performance.
