I have a Magento store running version 1.7.0.2 and I am looking to upgrade and redesign with a responsive theme. I have already purchased and had the theme installed on my staging website by the themes developers. They have also performed the upgrade from 1.7.0.2 to the latest 1.9.1.1. This has caused several issues as my store has a custom Gift Registry modification which has been developed specifically for my needs. The Gift Registry module works fine on my current live site but some of the core Magento files have been changed so performing upgrade causes parts of the code to break. I do have a list of the core files which have been changed so your job will be to analyse the code and make the necessary changes to ensure the Gift Registry system works well on the new upgraded site. The Gift Registry system requires several changes to the shopping cart, checkout procedure and payment gateway so you should have experience of doing this kind of work. There is also another which appears to have broken after the upgrade so that will also need fixing as there does not appear to be an update available. It is a simple extension that allows category pages to contain further categories with images and links. As well as fixing these modules there will be some css design changes as the theme is not quite how I want it so you must have good design skills and experience in theme customisation. To complete the project you will need to import all products, categories, customer and sales from my live sites database into the staging site and once everything is working copy the whole site over to my live server. During the project I will communicate with you frequently on Skype and I work 9am until 10pm UK time so you will need to be available during those hours for regular chats.
