Database automatic backup for script

Hi, when trying to restore database for keep your website working without problem we will need to have 2 databases(db1,db2) . I will create a module when you click the backup button it will copy all data from db1 to db2 . and when you click restore button it will change the database setting to use db2 so the backup will be applied immediately. next time when you try to backup it will copy data from db2 to db1 and change the setting to use db1. Hello, from your description I am missing which database are we talking and on which infrastructure are you running this, based on that information i can give you more detailed description how to solve this issue. In any case if we are talking about mysql db running on some web server then i assume you have php script for which we can set cron job that will automatically run the backup on some period of time. For restor we can also implement something in a way that user will drop the backup file to specifi location and script will grab that file and restore the database. If we are talking about oraclde db then oracl dump is the best way to do so. If you need gui interface we can use jenkins whihc is usually used for this automatic jobs.
