I'm an IT graduate and working in a computer center with Drupal and WordPress websites every day. Where do you measure the load of your webstite? You have two main problem. One is easy and the other is difficult. Difficult one is related with the server side but it can be solved.

I measured the speed at about 3.8 to 4.o seconds. When I tested the website I found Off Site JavaScript CSS and jQuery all of which can not be Optimized. With the items that can be Optimized ( Images Minifying etc ) we might get to 2 seconds. That is the best that I can promise you. I have 6 years of WordPress development and Website Optimizing.
