Write/Tweak CSS/PHP for modified WordPress theme

The purpose of this job is to complete a WordPress website by tweaking/writing CSS and PHP for an existing WordPress theme (including tweaking plugin CSS if it affects site appearance) and ensuring cross-browser, multi-platform consistency and operability. Details and deliverables follow, so please read on, but simply put: *We're looking for a coder to customize a WordPress theme for us.* **We'll give you:** * the theme we want you to customize, * a "comp sheet" (kind of like a screen shot) showing you what we want the site to look like, * all the updated graphics you'll need for the site, * instructions from the designer on the graphics (where they should be placed), and * a list of the plugins that we'll use on the site. You'll then make adjustments to the theme's CSS and PHP. If activating any of the plugins (like recaptcha) affects the theme's appearance (we don't anticipate this, but it might happen) then you'll tweak the plugin's CSS. You'll make sure the theme works on different platforms using different browsers and meets certain code standards. You'll also document your work (the changes you make). If you are experienced with WordPress themes and are experienced with CSS and PHP, this should be a simple job. ## Deliverables **We will supply the coder with:** * the theme we want you to customize, * a "comp sheet" (kind of like a screen shot) showing you what we want the site to look like, * all the updated graphics you'll need for the site, * instructions from the designer on the graphics (where they should be placed), and * a list of the plugins that we'll use on the site. ![][1]![][2] **Deliverables:** The **product deliverable** is the modified WordPress theme that, when activated in WordPress along with plugins, creates a fully-functional, cross-browser compatible website that 1. Is identical in appearance to the design presented by the graphic designer; 2. Includes the new functionality, such as the navigation tabs; 3. Preserves the functionality of the original theme; and 4. Remains in compliance with the XHTML 1.0 Transitional standard and appears and operates uniformly on Windows/Mac/UNIX platforms running Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 6, Safari 2 browsers and all later versions. The **component deliverables** are: * Modified and annotated CSS and PHP code for the WordPress theme; * Modified and annotated CSS for plugins; * Separate txt or doc file with a complete description of all changes and any instructions with respect to plugin installation or activation; * Written confirmation that testing has occurred on all platforms or on software that adequately simulates these platforms, and that meets all of the product deliverable requirements. **In simple terms:** For an experienced WordPress themer/coder, this should be a very easy job. You will need to be absolutely thorough, because we are meticulous about details and serious about the deliverables, but an experienced WordPress themer/coder should be able to nail this in about one day. Clean coding and perfect functionality (and us not having to call you back because of a problem) is much important to us than getting it back to us tomorrow! That said, we do expect no longer than a 10-day turnaround from job acceptance to completion.
