I am a home owner who recently found a letter which stated my mortgage was discharged 1/2000.I unknowingly continued to pay the mortgage to Advantage who gave the mortgage to Chase which shares the same phone#, address , and P.O. Box. Chase continues accepting payments .Chase gave me a loan filing a HUD settlement statement claiming to have paid the previous mortgage off which shared the same account # as the county recorded as a discharged mortgage. When I recently asked Chase who they paid they said they did not have that information available and no record of doing business with me prior 8/2005, when offered the loan. I have a Chase mortgage statement prior 2005 and said HUD settlement statement with some additional supporting documents if necessary.
