Responsibilities & requirements
 Create a mobile application for Android OS on Android Studio Deliver architectural knowledge in order to overcome technical challenges
Knowledge of object-oriented concepts and design patterns 
Experience with building mobile applications for Android
Experience with Firebase platform
Experience with data-as-a-service platform (ideally Socrata). 
Onsite presence not required Interfacing with Google Maps APIs Application - main functionalities Retrieve data from external web servers using web services. For example, take data from Socrata, filter them and import the exported json file into Firebase (the number of items could be more than 1 mln for each database).
Based on the gps coordinates, the app will use the data of one database or another one. Manipulate the data (backend) based on some parameters (latitude and longitude of the device and parameters chosen by the user) and show the results on a map (latitude and longitude for different points) using pins. The app should be able to show pins with custom icons and it should be possible to show graphics and data in a structure similar to a table.
 The app should be able to send notifications (sms) or make calls to specific contacts or numbers automatically. The contacts would be inserted in a specific screen of the app and stored in the user account (firebase).
 The user could also modify the range of observation of the map (e.g. from 500m to 50 m). This variation is directly related to the pins showed on the map and consequently to the logic behind the app. The app can also show directions from two points. It can calculate and show different paths based on an algorithm. Accordingly to the data stored in the database, the algorithm will choose the best path for the two points on the map.
