Super Swiing™ Bolting Analysis (70% weighting) The analysis of the entire structure is being handled by your team. Your analysis is to be restricted just to the bolted joint in the red circle of Figure 1. Please refer to Super Swiing drawing for the current design. A Swiing platform is suspended via steel cables and pivots from the lug. You may assume that the lug is securely fastened to the to plate and will not yield. You may also neglect centripetal acceleration. The Swiing moves through a maximum arc as per Figure 1. The maximum desired load currently is 30 kN which includes the Swiing platform. The top plate is made of mild steel and is secured to the bottom plate with two bolts. The bottom plate (also mild steel) is immovable. In your analysis you must use bolts no larger than M10 with a bolt property class of 4.6. We would like you to provide the following: a) Diagrams of how load varies through the bolts during a swing cycle b) Spring rate diagram for worst case scenario c) Failure analysis of the bolts d) Diagram of factor of safety vs load angle e) Qualitative assessment of structural integrity of current design with recommendations
