Raspberry Pi doesn't allow writable firmware. This is useful because if you are infected with malware, it cannot persist. All firmware is loaded in from the SD card, so you have total control. However, the one weakness is that every Raspberry Pi has a unique serial number. Every single Pi manufactured has a different serial number. Therefore, if someone hacks you, then hacks you again later, they can see that it's the same device, due to the unique serial number. Serial number can be obtained with "cat /proc/cpuinfo" But it can also be obtained by potentially probing the GPU itself... Note "G".. GPU. I would like to make it impossible to obtain the serial number, whether aimed at the CPU, or GPU, or any other component... I simply want to make it impossible for any application running on the Pi to obtain its serial number. Is this possible..?
