Hi, I can offer you a solution that would let you upload using typical serial terminal prig. No need for a java loader. All within 4-8kb size. Regards, Shah

I think I can make a program well under 768 bytes of flash (and 32 bytes of RAM.- not that the RAM usage matters) that can communicate with a accompanying python or C application on PC. Also, if you use serial in your main program, you can reuse the bootloader functions and save more space!

Hello, and Thanks for considering me as an option. I will C as program language. During bootup, Certain command will be send to the MCU via serial port to reprogram it. Otherwise it will boot as normal.
