Windows 8 Phone Live Audio Streaming App Development

This project is a Windows 8 Phone app update project, to provide a series of improves to an audio streaming application. The application, which already exists, needs to be able to reliably stream a variety of live stream types such as Shoutcast, Icecast mp3 live streams, AAC/AAC+ live streaming and HLS. Additionally, support for common playlist file formats is required - such as pls, m3u and m3u8. All the streams are third-party and there are many hundreds from which users can choose, so stability and performance are a must. The successful developer will need to assess the current app to understand where the current performance and stability flaws are - then work on a series of improvements. It is expected that the improvements are tested against at least 50 different streams. This is not an easy project. Please ensure you can demonstrate experience of live streaming on Windows 8 Phone before applying for this role. Applicants should provide links to existing work.
