I have experience like this before. It is a fuel cell projects. Here water as a cooler for fuel cell systems. My aim is building a control systems in order to stabilize the temperature, so that the temperature is no more than 65 degree Celcius, and not less then 45 degree celcius. Here, in my systems, the heat will throw out to the ambient in using a radiator and a fan. The controller collect data from temperatures at the inlet and outlet of a radiator, so that I get the difference of the temperatures or delta temperature. The controller also compare the temperature of inlet and the outlet of radiator to the ambient temperature, where is about 25 degree Celcius, so we get a relatives temperature to the ambient. From these temperatures status, delta temperature and relative temperature, the controller will control the flow of water by a pump and the speed of fan . I use a PID and/or PWM control for the pump flow of water and the speed of fan. So, from this experience, I think this system can apply to control Solar air heater.
