I have a table "RadioPlaylist" in my MSSQL 2008 R2 database, with a field "Artist" and a field "Title", and I would like to compare each entry to a master table "Records" which has a field "Artist" and "Title" in order to retrieve the value of [login to view URL] and assign it to RadioPlaylist.number.
Example: in my master table I have a record #23456 Artist: "Bob Sinclar & Cutee B" Title: "Rock the boat"
I want the query to detect all records in the RadioPlaylist table. The artist can be "Bob Sinclair" or "Bob Sinclar Feat. Cutee B" and the title can be "Rock Boat" or "Rock Da Boat"
The tricky part is to make the search "intelligent" so it can detect if an entry is close to the original in the reference table, with less errors as possible.
SQL is 2008 Express R2, and I installed full-text search.
Master Table example: [login to view URL]
RadioPlaylist example: [login to view URL]
The query would preferably run in a classic asp page (vbscript) so I could easily understand and adapt to my needs.
Thanks
Eric
