I just want to build a simple program that lists all the fonts installed on the system. Many of our clients want the facility to preview how a particular text looks like in different fonts. Option to specify formatting like Bold/Italics/Underline and font size will be appreciated. This is a very small project and thus the budget is small. One who can do this satisfactorily will receive more and more projects in future.

A google search of "font viewer freeware" shows up dozens of utilities that do what you require.
