About Parlay Ideas Parlay is an engaging educational community that is transforming learning through online discussion - the kinds of conversations that broaden perspectives and create lifelong learners. With the help of their teachers, students explore the events and ideas that are shaping their world to develop core skills such as communication and critical thinking. Students accumulate Parlay Points for meaningful contributions which helps educators track levels of engagement, assess learning outcomes and reward students with accolades and grades. We're currently running our beta and have (so far) 8 of the top independent schools in the country testing Parlay in their classrooms this school year. Hi, I'm bidding for the opening for a web developer for Parlay Ideas. Previously I've been working as a team leader for an American New York-based startup, we were creating a platform for the artistic community, and also I led a team of developers for a customer in the finance sector. I'm ready to assume a full-time or part-time role - and I'm very flexible with my time, I'm available 7AM-6PM New York timezone. My technical experience includes: - RoR, PHP - AngularJS, Javascript (and CoffeeScript) - 3d, ThreeJS - D3.js visualization library - SCSS - SQL - API integration - Payment gateway/PayPal/Braintree integrations - Java and C++ (I know it's not part of the requirements, but I'm mentioning just in case) - Amazon Web Services management (including custom Chef ruby scripts for auto-configuration) I'm also open to possibly assuming a leadership role in the future. I'd love to have a Skype or Google Hangouts conversation with you to discuss the details of the project, I speak fluent English.
