DNS configuration

I need a DNS, openSUSE, Samba guru, because I have a problem, where I do not find a solution. I guess this is due to my limited knowledge on DNS. I have a Thecus N5200 NAS device (<[login to view URL]>). This device is capable joining a Windows NT-Domain. This NT domain is setup and it works pretty well. Actually, I was able to join the domain with the NAS storage approx. 1 year ago and it worked. Unfortunately, I did not write down all steps that I did. But I can remember that I had to setup a DNS on my linux server and then it worked. DNS is somehow strange to me and even after trying several hours I do not find a solution to do it. I need someone to manage getting that NAS device joining my NT-Domain. I have the following IT infrastructure: - DSL modem ZyXEL - UNEX router The network runs perfectly for several years already. So, there is surely no problem. - OpenSuse 10.2 linux server acting as SAMBA Windows Primary Domain Controller - Thecus N5200 NAS device Further details on the configuration (domain names, ip addresses, config files etc. can be provided later on). What is expected: - Setup DNS properly - Manage to join the NAS device into my Windows Domain ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
