Create Sports Stats database

The goal of this project is to create a mysql database which contains sports stats from the following sports: college football, college basketball, pro basketball (NBA), major league baseball(MLB), and pro football (NFL). This might be done through some api (i dont know any exist) or through screen scraping. For each sport, there should be an update file (I prefer php but am open to alternatives) which goes out and pulls in the data into the database. Since most of the sports have positions that will have different stats (ie pitchers vs batters) there might be multiple types of stats to get on each sport. Here is my very high level breakdown per sport and what types of stats to get: College football - passing, rushing, reciving College basketball - general player stats Pro football - passing, rushing, reciving Pro basketball - general player stats Major League Baseball - pitching, batting I also would like an [login to view URL] file setup as an example on how I could build a html table from the stats.
