custom search form for yootheme zoo

I have a zoo app with different categories/types and need a custom search form to find the maching items in a category. It must be possible to search/filter by some or any element of the category/type. When search is done, the search form should shrink to just one line, with a button to expand again, to change the search. The search results must be displayed below the form in the zoo category layout (list of items in teaser layout).
