Fix or rewrite MS Word 2003 form so it validates in other versions

My client created a form in Word 2003 that won't validate in any other version of word. It works perfectly in 2003. When I try to validate the form in another version of Word (2000) nothing happens. I ASSUME it is a version problem, that some fields in Word 2003 aren't backwards compatible. My client uses this form for his hotel clients and doesn't have any control over or idea what version of Word they wioll be using to fill out the form. Therefore it needs to workin 2000, 2002 and hopefully 98. [login to view URL] we can’t control which versions of Word the hotels use, I need this form to work completely, validate and send the e-mail to the appropriate party in Word 2000 and 2003 and 98 if possible. Then I need it to populate the data in the excel spreadsheet. [login to view URL] it can’t be made to work in 98 I need to know why so I can pass it on to my client. There are the three documents that make up this package: 1) Instruction sheet on how to use the form that is sent out to the hotels. 2) RFP Form hotel is to fill out, which is the form itself. 3) Excel Form that is populated by certain data from the Word form. He just points the cursor to a designated spot on the form and it automatically exports the preselected data.
