ADO.Net 3.5 Data Services / C# (reposted with clearer requirements)

This is a very fast piece of work for someone that knows has the right, I estimate about a hundred lines of code, the technology skills are a little unusual, and might? make the work tricky but shouldn’t be a problem to someone with the correct skills. Most of the work has already been done work has already been done for this the first part of this project. What has been done so far works OK, except sometimes adding, deleting, editing records, just needs some work identify the errors: The cause of this is that the code is tracking the wrong entity and according to what it is tracking, needs to either Attachto() the entity (or not ) before Inserting, Updating or Deleting records. Project Deliverables 1. Need to be able to Add, Delete, Edit records for any of the Entity’s in the database, without getting the error. The code is already written for this, it just requires some checks first to stop the entity conflict errors and therefore allow the record changes. (this should be done first , the project is simply no good without this) 2. Reduce network requests / deal with records in Batches. When requesting data from the web service it is possible to batch the requests so all 3 calls to the Different Entities are done at once. This can also be done for updates, deletes and possibly inserts (adding) records. This should help reduce network traffic. When adding records I think it is possible to get the unique ID back from the database to the entity, this would help remove one step that is where I have to call back copies of the unique id I have just inserted. Ideally this should be done in a batch (if that’s possible, otherwise Inserts should be done as single records in order to get the ID back. 3. If 2 users are editing have edited the same record and updated the database the second user will get a concurrency issue, this will be shown in the etag for that record. When this happens the record for the second user should be written to a slightly different table. 4. Presently the code takes a copy of the Entity set ready for editing by the user it most users will only have READONLY if the code that calls the data from the service can changed so it is not tracking an Entity this may better, but this isn’t real problem, and not required, to complete the project. (I image that it would be possible to do but just removing some of the present code, and rather than writing more) ## Platform Technologies required: C# [login to view URL] 3.5 Data Services Entity framework LINQ Written in Silverlight (but no Silverlight required for this) Visual Studio Web dev edition 2008 with SQL express 2008. + Silverlight version 2 with sdk.
