Here's how it works.
Once app is installed, the user can navigate through our site.
If they get to a certain page, and they want a certain
bit of data about that page, they press the "F2" button
on their keyboard.
The page they're on is noted, and then they are redirected
(in the open browser if there is one open) to a new page,
using the page they were on as a variable. It would look
like this..
h t t p :/ / w w w . n e w - d o m a i n . c o m / n e w p a g e . c g i ? l a s t p a g e = h t t p : / / w w w . o l d - d o m a i n . c o m / f o o . h t m l
Whatever page they were on is called "lastpage" and
is sent as a variable to [login to view URL]
By the way, if a browser window is not open, this app
should just ignore it if the user presses "F2".
Also, when the person downloads the software, they will
be given the option of choosing a username and password.
This will be downloaded, along with the app, as a config file.
Format of the config file can be simply this:
username=bar
pass=12345
So when the user presses F2, it also reads that config file
and sends those variables too. So the whole URL string
the app redirects to would be something like this...
h t t p :/ / w w w . n e w - d o m a i n . c o m / n e w p a g e . c g i ? l a s t p a g e = h t t p : / / w w w . o l d - d o m a i n . c o m / f o o . h t m l & u s e r n a m e = b a r & p a s s = 1 2 3 4 5
The domain prefix (h t t p : / / w w w . n e w - d o m a i n / n e w p a g e . c g i ?) isn't the real domain prefix, obviously, but I'll give it to you and it should be hardcoded into the app.
Assume user doesn't have VB runtime files or any other
files required to make this work.
App should appear in Systray with easy uninstall. I'll
provide the icon for the systray, etc.
